Quala expands network in Gulf Coast, Midwest markets

North America’s largest tank-cleaning company adds Haughton Environmental, Tank Trailer Cleaning, and Sani-Kleen facilities

Quala continues to expand its network.

North America’s largest independent provider of tank trailer cleaning, testing, and repair services recently added five new facilities that increase its capacity and geographic footprint along the Gulf Coast and in the Midwest.

The new acquisitions are Haughton Environmental in Shreveport, La.; Tank Trailer Cleaning and AAA Trailer Services in East St. Louis, Ill.; and Sani-Kleen Tank Cleaning, which has three locations in Missouri and Kansas.

All five facilities were absorbed in December 2021, Quala said.

“We continuously look to support our mission by expanding our network and improving capabilities to service our customers,” said Erik Leto, Quala’s chief operating officer. “In terms of foodgrade cleaning, these acquisitions add to Quala’s already largest foodgrade cleaning network in North America, with a total of 23 fully certified, foodgrade facilities.

“Concurrently, the addition of AAA Trailer Services and the planned maintenance expansion in Shreveport allows Quala to continue to expand its independent maintenance network, offering our customers the ability for one-stop tank trailer cleaning and maintenance in 21 facilities.

“We look forward to servicing our existing and new customers at each of these new facilities.”

The addition of Tank Trailer Cleaning and AAA Trailer Services in East St. Louis more than doubles Quala’s capacity in the Illinois market with a comprehensive 50-acre facility, the company said. The new facility offers foodgrade and chemical tank cleaning services, ISO cleaning, and IBC (tote) repair and cleaning.

Additionally, this facility offers full-service tank trailer repair and maintenance services.

Haughton Environmental grows Quala’s capacity in the Shreveport market with a newly constructed 10-acre facility offering chemical tank cleaning, frac tank and box cleaning, and commercial waste water treatment.

Quala also said it plans to expand the facility to include tank trailer repair and maintenance, along with commercial industrial services.

The Sani-Kleen acquisition adds tank-cleaning services in three locations, including, Mount Vernon, Mo., Joplin, Mo., and Wichita, Kan. The cleaning bays service the regional foodgrade market, including Kosher, conversion, and IMS-certified washes.

Each of these facilities offer the ability for customers to develop on-site terminal operations, with office space and parking.

Quala also last year acquired two wash facilities from Kraft Tank, and bolstered its tank-cleaning capacity in California.
