Continental is expanding its ContiTread portfolio with the introduction of the HDL 5 EP, a next-generation long-haul drive retread engineered to deliver dependable performance, improved efficiency, and lower total cost per mile for fleet operations.
The ContiTread HDL 5 EP retread features an advanced five-rib tread pattern designed to provide consistent traction while helping reduce fuel consumption on long-haul routes, Continental reported. An optimized footprint combined with a V-shaped groove design promotes even wear, extending tread life and maximizing the value of every retread cycle.
Built with a next-gen compound, the retread enhances wear resistance and minimizes heat buildup, allowing fleets to keep trucks on the road longer while reducing overall operating costs. 3D metric sipes further enhance traction and provide confident handling across a variety of road and weather conditions, the company said.
The ContiTread HDL 5 EP is available in sizes 220, 230, and 240, with a tread depth of 21/32.
“Engineered to improve uptime, durability, and efficiency, the ContiTread HDL 5 EP delivers a smart, sustainable solution for demanding long-haul applications as part of Continental’s ContiTread retread offering,” Continental concluded in a news release.
