National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC), the US Department of Transportation (DoT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) are co-sponsoring a Cargo Tank Test & Inspection Workshop Aug 13-14 in Denver CO.
The workshop is intended to provide training that helps cargo tank testers and inspectors comply with current regulations for transporting, designing, certifying or repairing cargo tank trailers. Details are available at tanktruck.org.
Registration is $475 for NTTC members and $575 for non-members.
The two-day workshop runs from 7:30 am to 5 pm each day. Attendees receive a 200-page workbook and the 53rd edition of NTTC’s Bulk Hazmat Compliance Guide, along with breakfast and lunch both days. Certificates of attendance will be issued to those who complete the full workshop.
Experienced DoT and FMCSA field agents provide instruction during the workshop.
“Our facilities are active in hazardous material and cargo tank training and enforcement—with special training in the details of cargo tank regulatory requirements,” NTTC said. “They use their experience conducting facility audits to introduce ‘real world’ issues into the workshops.”
Each workshop focuses on compliance with the DoT’s cargo tank qualification and maintenance regulations found in 49 CFR Parts 107 and 180. Workshops also instruct carriers and repair facilities how to efficiently achieve full compliance with regulations. As part of the registration fee, participants receive detailed specification data about all MC and DoT series cargo tanks that can be referenced after in the future.
NTTC said its class also fulfills the function-specific training requirements in the Hazardous Materials Regulations.
