National Tank Truck Carriers is continuing its partnership with the US Department of Transportation and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)--co-sponsoring workshops designed to help cargo tank repair technicians, testers and inspectors comply with the federal cargo tank regulations. The workshops are open to fleet and commercial tank-repair shop mechanics.
Dates and locations of the four 2013 workshops are:
*July 30-31 at the Double Tree Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh PA.
*August 6-7 at the Hyatt Lodge on McDonald’s Campus in Oak Brook IL (outside Chicago).
*September 10-11 at the Crowne Plaza Charlotte in Charlotte, NC.
*The fourth workshop is scheduled for the week of October 28 at Reliant Park in Houston TX in conjunction with NTTC’s Tank Truck Week. More details about this workshop--and Tank Truck Week--will be available soon.
The workshop registration rates are $295 for NTTC members and $355 for non-members. These two day workshops run from approximately 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day. Attendees will receive a 200-page workbook, a 2013 NTTC Bulk Hazmat Compliance Guide (formerly known as the NTTC Hazardous Materials Regulations book) and meals (breakfast and lunch) both days. Certificates of attendance will be issued to those attending both days.
The workshops are conducted by experienced DOT/FMCSA field agents who are active in hazardous material and cargo tank training and enforcement--with special training in the details of cargo tank regulatory requirements. They use their experience in conducting facility audits to introduce "real world" issues into the workshops.
