Westeel managers say they have received the company’s first order for its proprietary Speed Plate frac tank system

Westeel managers say they have received the company’s first order for its proprietary Speed Plate frac tank system. The order was received from Total Oilfield Rentals LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Total Energy Services Inc, pursuant to Total's recent agreement with Westeel's distributor which provides Total with the exclusive right to rent the Speed Plate frac tank system to the oil and gas industry in Western Canada, North Dakota, and certain other US states.

The frac tank system ordered by Total incorporates Westeel's "Speed Plate" technology and requires significantly less time to install and remove as compared to other frac pools currently on the market.

"This product provides tremendous opportunities for our business in these locations,” says André Granger, Westeel president and general manager. “We are excited to be able to offer this convenient new system on a rental basis throughout the oil and gas industry in the northwestern United States and Western Canada through our distributor's exclusive arrangement with Total Oilfield Rentals.”

According to Russ Strilchuk, vice-president sales & marketing for Total, "Our fleet deployment of this new product through our Rentals and Transportation Services division, Total Oilfield Rentals, will commence with Westeel's Speed Plate tanks being available October 15 at our recently established Minot ND location. Our field trials confirm that the speed at which the new system can be deployed will be a real benefit to our customer base and the rental rates at which we can offer this system will be attractive relative to other systems in the market. We see this product as a valuable complement to our broad product offering in the marketplace both in the northwest United States and Western Canada".
