The South Central Region Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) recently recognized Pressure Systems International for its innovations in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to reduce costs and increase manufacturing capacity. U.S. Rep. Charlie Gonzales, D-San Antonio, was on hand to make the award presentation to all members of the PSI team at its manufacturing facility in San Antonio.

PSI, founded in 1993, manufactures automatic tire inflation systems, producing the Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS) by PSI. The system was recognized in 2000 with an R&D 100 Award as one of the year's 100 most significant technological achievements; and in 2006 ThermALERT, an advanced MTIS by PSI technology that detects increased wheel end temperatures, was introduced.

TMAC is a federally assisted program hosted by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) to provide affordable technical assistance to Texas manufacturers.
