RSPA Appoints New Head for Innovation, Research and Education

Timothy A. Klein has been selected to become the new associate administrator for innovation, research and education at the Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA).

As associate administrator for innovation, research and education, Klein will be responsible for directing RSPA’s commitment to delivering the highest quality research, technology, education and training to provide a safe, technologically advanced and efficient transportation system that promotes economic growth and international competitiveness.

Prior to joining the department, Klein served as the program business manager for instruments and formulation at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt MD, where he initially joined as a presidential management intern in 1986. At NASA, Klein led a team of project, institutional, procurement and resources management professionals in supporting the development of all GSFC flight instruments and all new missions in planning for both earth science and space science applications.
