Smart and Secure Tradelanes (SST), the global initiative deploying an end-to-end supply chain security network to enhance the security and efficiency of ocean container shipments, has announced that E J Brooks, the designer and manufacturer of mechanical and electronic security seals and locking devices, has joined the international consortium.

Since its summer 2002 launch, SST has signed more than 40 partners, including port operators, shippers, and ocean cargo services and system providers.

This announcement was made on the opening day of the sixth Security Seal Symposium conference in Santa Barbara CA by the Strategic Council on Security Technology, a global resource and catalyst for supply chain security that was instrumental in SST's launch.

SST leverages software and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology and infrastructure built for the United States Department of Defense's Total Asset Visibility network, which complies with international RFID technology standards.
