The Detroit Regional Chamber has established a border crossing hotline to give members and the general public daily updates on border delays, provide general information, and to collect data regarding the economic impact to regional businesses.

The hotline number is 313-596-0324.

Following the tragic events of September 11, the Chamber has been very active in working with local, state, and federal officials to ease the backups at the Detroit Windsor Tunnel, Ambassador Bridge, and Blue Water Bridge.

In addition to delay updates, the hotline will prompt callers to discuss the impact the border crossing delays have had on their businesses.

In a survey of members, the Chamber has reconfirmed the significant impact the shared border with Canada has on Detroit economy. Just-in-time freight for the automobile companies, health-care workers and other people, products, and services that move the economy are being delayed at the border.
