Bacharach's Bodyguard 4 is a compact, lightweight monitoring instrument with features that make it convenient for use in a variety of industries. Simultaneous four-gas monitoring provides a wide range of available gas combinations to customize the instrument to application requirements. Gases detected include oxygen, combustible gases, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, chlorine, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen chloride, and hydrogen fluoride.

The 16-ounce device is equipped with datalogging and data downloading to a personal computer. Area sampling is performed by a pump that is controlled by an infrared link for reliability and simplicity.

In the basic mode, gas levels, battery power, date, and time are displayed. In the supervisory mode, the unit indicates minimum and maximum gas levels encountered during the measurement period. Datalogged hygiene parameters can be accessed for analysis later. The hygiene mode includes all of these features and displays time-weighted average and short-term exposure limit levels.
