ChemTrans, Gardena CA, has announced a strategic alliance to merge its Southern California operations and deliver increased liquid bulk transportation services, primarily in the Western United States.
ChemTrans is a dba of Radford Alexander Corp and Odyssey Transportation. Under the new arrangement, ChemTrans will take over control of all billing and dispatching functions and Odyssey Transportation will operate as an affiliate to ChemTrans, whereby drivers and equipment owned by Odyssey Transportation will be permanently leased to ChemTrans.
The new fleet will operate under the ChemTrans name. The changeover takes effect February 1, 2006.
Both companies have been involved in bulk/chemical trucking industry for several decades, focusing on delivery of a variety of liquid bulk products, including hazardous liquid materials.
The combined company will be able to focus on providing greater service to customers, increased market penetration, and allow for an organization that will be better prepared to meet changing market demands, the company said.
ChemTrans was focused on bulk material delivery in the Western United States and accessorial industries such as tank cleaning, intermodal depot services, and inspection/maintenance.
Odyssey Transportation focused on the delivery side of the business and had more breath and depth to the locations where it deliver bulk materials.
Avalon Premium Tank Cleaning and Avalon Intermodal, both dba of Radford Alexander Corp, are specialized in chemical tanker cleaning services and tanker/ISO tank inspection and repair, respectively. With the combined entity, these services will be available to a wider customer base and provide the opportunity for a “one-stop” shop for more chemical manufacturers/shippers, the company said.
