Inergy LP has announced the acquisition of certain assets of Resource Energy Marketing (REM), a wholesale propane marketer and transporter based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
REM markets and transports propane through the northeastern United States and Canada and serves about 100 wholesale clients from Edmonton to Montreal in Canada, and in western New York, Pennsylvania, the Northwest, and California. Approximately 75% of REM's customer base is in the United States, and the remaining 25% is in Canada.
Inergy has acquired the rights to a fleet of 58 railcars and exclusive rights to ship and receive tank cars at a Montreal rail terminal, enhancing the company's production and marketing capabilities in the northeastern United States and Canada.
