Maryland reduces driver hazmat fee

Maryland has reduced the fee for conducting fingerprint-based background record checks for commercial driver licenses, according to the Maryland Motor Truck Association (MMTA).

Maryland has reduced the fee for conducting fingerprint-based background record checks for commercial driver licenses, according to the Maryland Motor Truck Association (MMTA).

The association successfully lobbied to get the fee reduced to $88 from $118.

Drivers that paid the high fee are eligible for a $30 refund, MMTA said.
