Ambassador Bridge officials have unveiled a $270-million redesign that would reverse customs inspections, construct plazas, and build several kilometers of access roads at the Michigan border between the United States and Canada, according to the Ontario Trucking Association.

The new plan would divert traffic from Huron Church Road north of E C Row Expressway in Windsor, Ontario, Canada; ease border congestion; and address security concerns raised since the Sept 11, 2001, attacks. The bridge and governments on both sides of the border would share the cost of the project.
