Use of LADE (Load Access and Delivery Environment) would increase security for hazardous materials being transported on United States highways. Jet Star Inc, a major transporter of jet fuel, has implemented the application.
An Internet-based shipment tracking system, LADE originally was designed for commercial use by Cytranz Inc. It provides information — ranging from truck locations to driver information to specific individual items being shipped — to all partners in the supply chain within a private network.
When used with on-board GPS (global positioning system) communications, LADE provides up-to-the-second truck location, real-time communications with the driver, and instant alert notification should the shipment encounter a problem. LADE has been designed to create business opportunities and efficiencies, while reducing paperwork, “back-end” labor requirements, and unnecessary delays.
