Sunoco Inc (R&M) has announced the winners of its 2005 Carrier of the Year Awards. The program, entering its fifth year, is based on a scoring system that encompasses carrier performance in safety, service, and customer satisfaction. The 2005 winners are:

  • National Carrier Of The Year: DistTech (Ironton OH terminal). This terminal serves Sunoco's Haverhill OH facility, safely handling phenol, alpha methylstyrene, and acetone shipments with a high level of customer satisfaction. DistTech-Ironton has won a Sunoco Carrier of the Year award each year since the program's inception.

Sunoco also recognizes two other carriers for exceptional work performed at other Sunoco facilities:

  • Carrier of the Year: Quality Carriers (Bridgeport NJ terminal). This terminal services Sunoco's Frankford PA facility and is responsible for safely handling phenol, alpha methylstyrene, and acetone shipments for Sunoco. This is Quality Bridgeport's first Sunoco Carrier of the Year Award.

  • Carrier of the Year: Oklahoma Tank Lines/United Petroleum Transport (OLT/UPT) (Tulsa OK terminal). This terminal safely handles lubricants shipments from Sunoco's Tulsa refinery. This is OTL/UPT's second consecutive Carrier of the Year Award.
