SEVERAL companies that provide equipment for use in propane and fuel oil distribution make a point to describe products and applications. Some of these sites have been updated to reflect changes in company structure and products. Some offer secure access for the convenience of distributors while others have manuals that can be downloaded. All are providing information that makes it easy to review products and their services.

Following is a sampling of the sites that address the needs of the heating fuels distribution market. Among the pack are Actaris, new owner of Neptune products; Drum and Emco Wheaton, both present on parent Syltone's site; Liquid Controls with a newly updated site; and Midwest Computer Register Corp and its downloadable manuals.

actris.com

Actaris, Paris, France, now owner of the Neptune liquid measurement system, has added pages to its Web site for the Greenwood, South Carolina, division acquired in November 2001 from Schlumberger. The history of Neptune is provided on the site, culminating in the recent purchase.

Neptune products are discussed in four categories: refined fuel products, industrial products, mass flow products, and accessories. For example, a click on the liquid petroleum gas (LPG) section brings up photographs and information on a tank truck meter and a dispenser flowmeter. Information about products from each category are available.

syltone.com

Emco Wheaton and Drum products receive attention on the updated Syltone Web site. Syltone is the parent company of Emco Wheaton and Drum, both based in Louisville, Kentucky.

One page features product service and maintenance information, including service, maintenance, and installation instructions. The page also contains information about product breakdown and spare kits. Categories include blowers, compressors, dry bulk accessories, hydraulic drive systems, pumps, Sentinel (remote emergency shutdown system), vacuum pumps, and valves and fittings.

lcmeter.com

Liquid Controls, Lake Bluff, Illinois, provides an application guide for its line of flow meter products. They are described by application and rated for excellent, good, fair, or do not use meter choice.

The company also provides a specification list for large numeral counter retrofit kits and remote display units. For distributors' convenience, the site offers a secure access for them to gather information.

midcomcorp.com

Midwest Computer Register Corporation (Mid:Com), Hampton, Iowa, provides online user manuals for its products. Among the offerings are installation, operation, and maintenance manuals. A Mid:Com Datacard and Comlink guide and systems and parts catalog can be downloaded.

Specifications for products are also provided within the product information pages.
