Maumee Express Inc (MXI), a Piscataway NJ-based waste transportation and environmental services company, has announced its expansion plans. MXI has entered into an agreement to purchase selected assets from two privately held brokerage and contracting operations, Waste Dynamics Inc and Ruffler Contracting Inc. The purchase will allow MXI to expand both its waste transport and environmental services operations.
MXI will continue to provide disposal services to Waste Dynamics' New York metro-area customers. Joe Angelone, principal at Waste Dynamics, has agreed to join MXI full time. He will manage expansion of the disposal and recycling services provided by MXI's materials recovery facility in Abingdon VA.
Ruffler Contracting provided equipment used by MXI to offer specialized transportation services, including tractors, vacuum tankers, and roll-off containers. Kevin Ruffler, principal at Ruffler Contracting, has elected to pursue other interests.
MXI also recently broke ground on a new office, maintenance, and processing facility in Washington County VA. The facility will consist of three separate buildings: a 3,000-square-foot administrative office, an 8,000-sq-ft maintenance garage, and a 24,000-sq-ft materials recovery facility. The total site covers 6½ acres and represents a private investment of $1.5 million. The facility will employ about 70 people when fully operational.
