Drylok coupling simplifies liquid transfer

Environmental and worker safety regulations require an ever-increasing commitment to containment when transferring hazardous, corrosive, or volatile bulk

Environmental and worker safety regulations require an ever-increasing commitment to containment when transferring hazardous, corrosive, or volatile bulk liquids. OPW Engineered Systems' Drylok coupling makes such transfers easy, safe, and nearly foolproof.

Drylok is designed to safely handle acids, solvents, and petrochemicals. An interlocking handle averts accidental spills by preventing uncoupling while the valve is open. The unit's flat surface minimizes fluid loss, further reducing exposure to risk during operation. Suitable for high-pressure line use, Drylok is rated at 300 psi in the open and flowing position. When connected to the adapter, it can be opened and closed against 150-psi maximum head pressure. Less obstruction in the easy-flow interior optimizes the flow rate in high-pressure or high-viscosity applications.

Operation is simple. Place the coupler over the adapter, turn the locking handle, and the valve opens for full flow. Unlocking closes the valve with a tight, secure seal. Drylok's 360° orientation simplifies proper seating and eliminates the need for precise coupler/adapter alignment. There are no clamps, clips, loops, or tabs that can cause operator error.

This coupling comes in 1" (25-mm), 2" (50-mm), 3" (76-mm), and 4" (100-mm) sizes and in various materials and configurations. It can be specified with: 316 stainless steel, Alloy 20 or Hastalloy C; and NPT, BSP, ANSI flanged, BW, or SW end connections. Seals are available in buna-N, Viton, Teflon, EPT, EPDM, EPR, Kalrez, Chemraz, or other compounds.
