Distribution Technologies Inc, Newbury OH, has been honored by the Sunoco Inc's transportation group with its 2005 Tank Truck Carrier of the Year Award.

“Sunoco congratulates DistTech's Ironton terminal on winning our Carrier of the Year program in 2005,” said Kelly Elizardo, director of transportation for Sunoco. “The carrier's nearly perfect score of 102.81 out of 103 possible points is an incredible accomplishment and a continuance of their solid performance.”

“This award is really a testament to the dedication of our Ironton-based drivers and crew who have made it their mission to deliver excellence to Sunoco each and every day,” said John Rakoczy, DistTech chief operations officer. “Our team members, especially Ray Elliott and Anna Collins, have done a tremendous job of anticipating the customer’s needs and doing whatever it takes to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.”

This marks the fifth consecutive year that DistTech has been honored with a Carrier of the Year Award by Sunoco.

Sunoco’s Carrier of the Year Award selection is based on a core carrier’s safety and service performance to the company’s customers throughout the year. The criteria includes outstanding on-time delivery, on-time loading, accident performance and load acceptance.

DistTech won the Carrier of the Year Award based on the performance of its Ironton OH terminal, which transports liquid chemicals from Sunoco’s facility in Haverhill OH to more than 100 locations east of the Mississippi River.
