Two changes are in place for the 2001 TransChem conference and exposition, according to information from Chemicalweek, sponsor of the events. The Chemical Transportation and Distribution Conference is scheduled for Jan 22-23, 2001, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston TX. The TransChem Expo will move to Chicago IL and will be held June 13-14, 2001, at the Rosemont Convention Center. It will run concurrently with the Chemical Engineering Expo.

The Houston meeting will be a conference and networking event focusing on general sessions and breakout sessions for the transportation and distribution segment of the industry. The event began in New Orleans LA and was held in Houston the past two years. Beginning with 2001, an alternate-year pattern will be used between New Orleans and Houston.

At the 2001 conference, topics will include e-business and e-procurement, safety, and transportation. In addition, industry case studies will be presented. Conference admission price includes all proceedings, sessions, networking, and food functions. Group discounts are available. For further information, telephone 212-621-4978 or e-mail [email protected].

The 2001 TransChem exposition was moved to Chicago to give the exhibit a broader audience in the chemical process industries, according to Chemicalweek. The Chemical Engineering Expo and TransChem will be co-located and continue to be promoted separately to their target audiences with bonus attendance from the overlapping events, according to Chemicalweek.

Both of the Chicago events will feature an interactive exhibition and free seminar sessions. Attendance is free for all qualified participants. For more information, phone 212-621-4627.
