Terk Technologies Corp presents two XM Satellite Radio antennas made so that long-haul truck drivers can enjoy XM's 101 channels of music, news, sports, and talk programming. Truckers can choose from either a mirror- or a clip-mount system.
The weather-resistant design for both antennas has been tested and approved to stand up to severe weather conditions and survive a high-vibration road environment. Both antennas perform with dual-mode functionality, receiving simultaneous signals from satellites and terrestrial repeaters to ensure coast-to-coast continuous reception.
Terk's clip-mount antenna (XM4-CLIP) has a ground-plane independent design that installs onto and behind a truck's air dam, shield, or flap. The design allows the antenna to be in perfect line-of-sight to the XM satellites, yet out of sight to the eye and unexposed to wind and trees. The XM-CLIP includes a pre-assembled, flange-mount clamp that attaches to the chosen area of the truck, 30 feet of low-loss, coaxial cable, and cable management accessories.
The mirror-mount antenna (XM4-MM) offers convenient installation on mirror supports. The mast, at 2.5 feet, mounts high enough for maximum line-of-sight signal path to XM's satellites. Sixteen feet of low-loss, coaxial cable attached to the antenna can be routed through existing holes or through a vent window.
