International Truck dealers, regional account managers, and national account managers can now order Class 8 tractors from the International Assembly Plant

International Truck dealers, regional account managers, and national account managers can now order Class 8 tractors from the International Assembly Plant in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, with Air-Weigh on-board truck scales pre-installed at the Waycon International New Truck Processing Center.

This center is a 40,000-square-foot, 35-bay facility next to both the International Assembly Plant and the International dealer, Waycon International Trucks Ltd. The International Chatham Assembly Plant is the largest Class 8 manufacturing facility where most 9000I Series conventionals are built. In 2000, more than 4,500 new International Class 8 tractors were processed by Waycon's New Truck Processing Center before being delivered to customer locations and dealers.

Air-Weigh scales allow a driver to monitor actual on-the-ground weight of an entire vehicle to ensure that the load does not exceed a legal GVW and that the load is legally distributed over the axles. By avoiding the need to check-weigh at a commercial scale, the driver also avoids scale fees, fines, wasted time, and out-of-route miles. The driver doesn't have to return to the loading site and wait to have the load reworked. With on-board scales, the truck never leaves the loading site overweight and can move directly from shipper to receiver without a weight-related delay.
