Dixon Valve & Coupling Co offers its Hose Assembly Safety Program as a free service to the industry. The company developed this program to help manufacturers identify conditions that pose a potential risk to plant production or safety.
Offered as a complimentary service for the past 15 years, the centerpiece of Dixon's Hose Assembly Safety Program is an inplant hose assembly safety survey conducted on the premises by a safety team assembled by Dixon. The safety team includes hose and fittings experts, and typically includes the rubber/hose distributor and coupling manufacturer in addition to plant personnel.
During the survey process, the safety team tours the plant, viewing and studying various hose applications and assemblies. The survey methodology focuses on the industry-standard acronym of STAMPED (size, temperature, application, media, pressure, ends, and delivery) as the basis for assessment. Any areas of potential concern are pinpointed and photographed to help document findings.
Once the survey is completed and the results compiled, Dixon provides written recommendations concerning the selection, installation, and maintenance of the plant's assemblies, along with suggestions for storage, inspection, and testing of hose assemblies.
The Hose Assembly Safety Program is offered free of charge. For more information, phone 800-355-1991 or visit www.dixonvalve.com.
