The 51st annual convention of the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) will head for Dallas, Texas, when Convex 2001 opens in October. The convention takes place at the Dallas Convention Center October 2-4, 2001. Attendance is expected to exceed 4,000.
A major component of the convention is the world’s largest exposition of equipment used in petroleum marketing operations. The 550-booth trade show opens Tuesday, October 2, and runs through Thursday, October 4. The show features over 200 exhibitors, displaying underground and above-ground storage tanks, dispensing equipment, leak detection equipment, meters, canopies, electronic controls, and other related equipment.
An opening day luncheon will be held Tuesday, October 2, with Larry Winget speaking about Stuff That Works Every Single Day. The inspirational breakfast on Tuesday morning will feature Suzie Humphreys’ presentation, Life is What Happens…While You’re Making Other Plans.
Five education sessions are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday, focusing on industry matters. Topics include: Negotiating Strategies, The Pros & Cons of Consolidation, Petroleum Marketing Around the Globe, and Critical Issues Update. The update will cover the latest information on federal issues regarding underground storage tanks, fire codes, upcoming diesel phase-in regulations, mobile refueling, weights and measures issues, and enhanced vapor recovery.
