Several tank truck carriers have received safety awards from the American Trucking Associations (ATA) Safety & Loss Prevention Management Council. Truck safety awards are presented to the top three carriers in each commodity division and mileage class with the lowest accident rates per million vehicle miles of operation for 2000. National industrial safety awards recognize the top three carriers in each commodity division that had the lowest overall injury frequency rate, in terms of the number of lost-time cases per 200,000 employee-hours of exposure for 2000. Improvement Awards made to carriers recognized for strides made to decrease accident rates for the past year: tank truck division, division winner: Usher Transport Inc, Louisville KY, Michael Baker, director of safety.
