The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has been named to the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Advance America Honor Roll for 2003.

CVSA won the honor for its Roadcheck program, an international transportation safety and security activity that takes place annually throughout Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Inspectors are on the job night and day during the 72-hour period checking commercial vehicles and their drivers at inspection sites along major highways. In addition, roving patrols inspect commercial vehicles traveling other highways.

Roadcheck is sponsored by CVSA with participation by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators, Transport Canada, Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (Mexico), and in 2002, the Research and Special Programs Administration.

The winners of the ASAE award are automatically entered into consideration for the Summit Award, ASAE’s highest association honor. All AAA Award winners will be honored during ASAE Hawaii 2003, the society’s annual meeting and exposition, to be held at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu HI August 23-26.
