MSA Instrument Division has announced that the Solaris Multigas Detector has received approvals from both ATEX and CSA. ATEX (European) approval for intrinsic safety was accomplished in February 2004, and CSA (Canadian) approval for intrinsic safety was attained in April 2004. The Solaris Multigas Detector is UL-approved for Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D and is certified compliant with ISO 9001 provisions.

The Solaris Multigas Detector performs simultaneous monitoring of up to four gases, including LEL, oxygen, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide. Other features of the Solaris detector include a fresh-air setup safeguard, rubberized armor housing for impact protection, and an IP/65 rating for water and dust ingress.

The Universal Pump Probe may also be used with the Solaris detector to perform remote sampling. This pump can be used with up to 50 feet of tubing and features MSA's patented PulseCheck technology, ensuring proper pump function. For more information, contact MSA, PO Box 427, Pittsburgh PA 15230.
