Regional Enterprises Inc of Hopewell VA has opened a new open-switch transloading facility in Johnson City TN. A liquid bulk carrier, transloader, and aboveground bulk storage company, Regional indicates the total investment in the new facility and its service equipment exceeded an investment in the local community of more than $400,000.

The company will offer the combined services of liquid bulk transloading and liquid bulk transportation. The Johnson City facility is operated by regional employees, and it is their first standalone transloading operation in partnership with East Tennessee Railway.

Regional will handle hazardous materials including Class 5 oxidizers and Class 8 acids. The combination service is expected to double in size during the first year to handle more than 500 railcars per year. It will serve Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
