Schneider National wins award from EPA SmartWay

Schneider National Inc has received an Environmental Excellence Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay Transport

Schneider National Inc has received an Environmental Excellence Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership for its achievements in reducing emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases from its freight transport activities.

The company was one of 24 firms from among the partnership's 400-plus partners to receive this distinction.

SmartWay Transport Partners include businesses and organizations of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to family-owned businesses. Schneider drivers are trained to achieve greater fuel efficiency, and all of the company's units have aerodynamic packages that include bumpers, side fairings, fuel tank skirts, integrated roof shields, and minimum tractor-to-trailer gap. Schneider's tractors are road-speed-limited to 65 mph with a maximum cruise speed of 63 mph.
