Truck Driver Don Lantz was honored by the New Jersey Motor Truck Association for his efforts in helping police capture the alleged Washington Beltway snipers. Lantz saw the suspects' car parked at a rest area in Maryland. He called police and used his truck to help block the suspects' car in the rest area. NJMTA Executive Director Gail Toth presented her association's Highway Hero Award to him November 7. Lantz drives for Bass Transportation of Flemington NJ, a dry bulk fleet with rail transloading operations.
