Carlisle Motion Control Industries has opened a new production facility in Apodaca Nuevo Leon, Mexico. This plant will manufacture the company's complete line of spring brakes and service chambers for Class 6-8 vehicles. The plant plans to apply for ISO/QS-9000 certification after six months of operation.
Carlisle offers spring brakes in sizes 20/24 through 36/36, as well as a line of service chambers and TÜV-approved disc brakes. Production at the new facility also will incorporate all of the patented design enhancements recently introduced by Carlisle Spring Brake. Product changes include a bigger non-pressure housing for greater force output, and 90° port angles for easier installation. The patented guided diaphragm will continue to be part of the spring brake design and production.
This new facility will enable Carlisle to handle growth of its spring brake product line. Carlisle Spring Brake in Mexico will employ 75 people and produce 50,000 spring brakes per month for truck and trailer OEMs, axle manufacturers, and major truck part distributors in North America, Europe, and Asia.
