Cummins Inc announced the winners of its 9,000 Gallon Giveaway. In the United States, Brad Willard won the equivalent of a full tanker truck of diesel fuel. Willard is a company driver for H&M Trucking in Clinton IL and drives a Peterbilt to haul foodgrade product, both liquid and dry, in a stainless steel tanker.

In Canada, owner/operator Simon Giguere of St Hyacinthe, Quebec, also won 9,000 gallons of diesel fuel. He drives a Peterbilt 379 with a Cummins 2005 ISX 565-horsepower engine and hauls mostly paper products on his aluminum flatbed trailer.

Both were selected in a random drawing at Cummins headquarters Nov 1, 2005. Five runner-up prizes of $500 fuel cards also were awarded, both in the United States and Canada.

In the United States, runner-up prizes were awarded to Kelly Winters, Springtown OK; David Tyree, Springfield OH; Ed Harris, Knoxville TN; Dennis Edelman, Seneca NE.; and Eric Anderson, Austin MN. In Canada, runner-up prizes went to Sylvain LaLonde, Ste-Marthe, Quebec; Len Thomsen, Surrey, British Columbia; Iouiri Kalmykov, Pitt Meadows, British Columbia; Denis Grondin, Laval, Quebec; and Simon Choquette, Pierretonds, Quebec.

The 9,000 Gallon Giveaway officially ran between March 31, 2005, the opening of the Mid-America Trucking Show, and Oct 22, 2005, the close of the ExpoCam Show. More than 7,000 mail and online entries were received.
