Honeywell Process Solutions announced that Mongolian petroleum distributor Magnai Trade Co Ltd has selected Honeywell to provide a complete automation system for its oil terminal in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. This is Honeywell's first Experion PKS project in Mongolia.

Magnai Trade distributes 25% of Mongolia's petroleum supply, importing refined products from neighboring nations by railcar. Honeywell will automate the company's main oil depot with a terminal automation and control system, integrated with Honeywell's Experion PKS (Process Knowledge System). The terminal automation and control system will automate and control processes throughout the terminal, including unloading products from railcars to tanks, receiving customer orders, loading operations, and invoicing. The result will be better control of product flow and reduced costs related to pilferage and inaccurate product loading.

Experion PKS will also integrate process controls throughout the terminal to manage inventory and increase security. With Experion, every transaction will be authorized and approved via Magnai's central computer system, and then logged and tracked for daily and monthly reports.
