Over the course of roughly 40 years G&D Trucking Inc/Hoffman Transportation LLC has grown into a successful transload specialist with five truck/rail transfer facilities. The company also built an award winning fleet safety program. Jerry Curl, Kolby Hoffman, Kevin Hoffman, and Jordon Hoffman posed with the National Tank Truck Carriers North American Safety Trophy in the Sutherland Division that the carrier received earlier this year.
With its 3% turnover rate, the carrier has a number of 30-plus years drivers on its team, including (from left) Thomas Oswald, Ralph Bissey, Douglas Boundy, and William Olsen (also a Vietnam War Veteran).

Plastic pellets are transferred from rail hopper cars to vacuum pneumatic bulk trailers. Typical bulkers for the operation have a 1,600-cu-ft capacity.

G&D Trucking/Hoffman Transportation recently completed construction of a new 450,000-sq-ft warehouse in Coal City IL that is handling gaylords and super sacks of plastics. The facility includes a rail siding with capacity for 300 cars.
Ample diesel storage is in place for fleet fueling at the Channahon facility.
