A&R Logistics has leased 145,000 sq ft of warehouse space at Railhead Industrial Park from Weeks Robinson Properties. The 10-year lease was signed April 2 and move-in is scheduled for August 1.
The facility, located on Railhead Road just south of Interstate 820, between US 287 and Interstate 35W, is about one third larger than A&R’s existing facility on Franklin Drive. The Railhead space has eight rail doors and 34 truck loading docks, with access to a future rail spur.
The company plans to utilize immediately about 75% of the new space, with the remainder available to accommodate continuing growth from the petrochemical industry in Texas. The facility will store plastic resins and granulated plastic powder.
A&R’s announcement about the Ft Worth property follows an announcement in February that it had opened a new full service regional distribution center in Jackson TN, its tenth nationwide. When occupancy is completed at the Ft Worth property, the company will have more than 1.7 million sq ft of warehouse space in service nationwide.
Commenting on the transaction was Daniel Jaworski, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for A&R based in The Woodlands TX: “Throughout 2013, under our new ownership, we focused our energy on back-to-basic improvements in safety, operational excellence, and customer service. We’ve now set our sights on realizing our growth potential, with expanded warehouse facilities being part and parcel of that growth strategy.”
