Gemini Motor Transport, G&D Trucking/Hoffman Transportation earn top NTTC safety trophies

National Tank Truck Carriers announced its latest North American Safety Champions on April 2: Gemini Motor Transport of Oklahoma City OK and G&D Trucking Inc/Hoffman Transportation LLC of Channahon IL. 

Both tank truck carriers will receive their awards during the NTTC’s upcoming Annual Conference & Exhibits at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto ON, Canada, which takes place April 15-17. 17. Heil Trailer International proudly sponsors the NTTC’s North American Safety Awards, which recognize the best tank truck industry safety programs in two different mileage divisions.

“Congratulations to Gemini and Hoffman,” said NTTC Chairman Lee Miller. “As a former Heil Award winner, I can tell you that it takes a real team effort to prioritize safety across your organization. Both companies should be proud.”

The Mileage Divisions are named after the association’s first two and longest-serving presidents:  Austin Sutherland (1945-1972) and his successor, Cliff Harvison (1972-2005).  The mileage-based dividing line of the fleet size categories is 15 million miles. Gemini Motor Transport won its division with an accident frequency of 0.291 accidents per million miles. G&D Trucking’s accident frequency of 0.090 accidents per million miles was the winning mark in the Sutherland Division.

Gemini Motor Transport’s, vice-president of transportation, Brent Bergevin, and Jerry Curl, director of operations, Hoffman Transportation will also be recognized as NTTC's Safety Professionals of the Year at the Safety Awards banquet during the annual meeting of NTTC’s Tank Truck Safety & Security Council on June 13 in Reno NV.
