Milestone opens fourth Permian Basin drilling waste facility

Milestone Environmental Services, an industry leader in oil and gas waste management, recently opened its seventh state-of-the-art facility to serve E&P customers. The Stanton facility in Glasscock County is 10 miles south of Stanton TX, near the intersection of Highway 137 and County Road 470.

The facility started receiving shipments from customers in August and is operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Milestone will host a grand opening at the facility on Thursday, September 13.

“With the addition of the Stanton and Orla facilities this year, Milestone is the clear leader in slurry waste disposal in the Permian Basin,” said Gabriel Rio, Milestone Environmental president and chief executive officer. “We are positioned for extraordinary growth in the most prolific drilling region in the United States. We have assembled an incredibly talented team that has enabled us to develop new facilities quickly, operate them safely and efficiently, and provide excellent service to our customers. Milestone is not stopping here. We expect to continue to add additional facilities in the coming year, making environmentally-sustainable management of oilfield waste more accessible for our customers.”

The Stanton facility is designed to minimize the impact on the environment and the community. The facility will minimize waste by reusing salt water, recovering oil and capturing solids. By locating facilities near drilling activity, Milestone reduces truck trip times and traffic along the highways which benefits the community and saves customers time and money. The facility is situated on acreage designed to decrease noise, lights, and dust for neighbors.
