TACenergy grows tech expertise with Desert Fuels acquisition

Sept. 4, 2018
TACenergy, a division of The Arnold Companies, recently acquired Desert Fuels, a petroleum commodity supply and logistics company.

TACenergy, a division of The Arnold Companies (TAC), recently acquired Desert Fuels, a petroleum commodity supply and logistics company. Terms of the sale between the privately held companies were not disclosed.

Dallas TX-based TACenergy, a distributor of refined petroleum products with a large terminal supply network, plans to maintain all key sales and customer service associates, along with establishing a new sales office in Albuquerque NM.

The company said its goal is to use TACenergy’s expertise and resources to help the local team continue providing excellent service, along with the competitive fuel prices and reliable supply its network provides.

“We are so pleased to welcome J.J. and the Desert Fuels team into the TAC family and look forward to servicing each new customer with the level of expertise they are accustomed to,” said Greg Arnold, TAC chairman and CEO.

The office and staff will work in Albuquerque’s Old Town district, providing employees the opportunity to stay local and close to existing customers.

“This acquisition sets up an unbeatable combination of the TACenergy supply, financial, IT, trading and geographic scale along with Desert Fuels’ technology expertise to better serve each customer while holding true to the Desert Fuels mission: to revolutionize the wholesale fuel industry,” said J.J. Mancini, president of Desert Fuels, who will stay directly involved in the business, consulting with TACenergy from the New Mexico office.

Desert Fuels' owners, Jason Mancini, Jay Kennedy and J.J. Mancini, said they are excited about the acquisition and believe there is no better company than TACenergy to continue to champion the Desert Fuels values of service and innovation.

The acquisition also will help TACenergy strengthen its footprint in the southwest, the company said, with the majority coming from local and regional business throughout New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Oklahoma.

“The Desert Fuels’ customers, along with our existing customers, will benefit from the additional supply resources,” said Fred Sloan, vice president and chief operating officer of TACenergy. “Enhancing our existing technology offerings with Desert Fuels’ refreshing approach to incorporate technology in the buying and delivery of wholesale fuel will be easily accomplished.”
