News Briefs: Tank fleet, storage terminal developments

Here are some of the latest news events involving tank truck fleet and storage terminal operations:

  1.  A January 8 tank trailer confined space incident in Granite Falls MN left one man dead and another injured, according to the Grand Forks Herald. The men were cleaning out a tank trailer that had contained distiller syrup.
  2. Following an attack on the Ras Lanuf crude oil terminal, Libya’s National Oil Corporation has emptied storage tanks at the facility, according to Channel NewsAsia. Islamic State militants had attacked the Ras Lanuf and Es Sider terminals, setting fire to seven tanks in all.
  3. Limetree Bay Terminals (LB Terminals) reportedly has completed the purchase of the idled Hovensa storage terminals, refining units, and marine infrastructure at Limetree Bay, St Croix, US Virgin Islands, according to OPIS.
