Bulk Tank International receives TTMA’s 2013 Plant Safety Award

May 28, 2014

Bulk Tank International, a leading manufacturer of stainless steel DOT407 tank trailers located in San Jose Iturbide, Mexico, and part of Wabash National Corporation’s Walker Group division, was honored with the 2013 Plant Safety Award from the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA).

The award was presented to Wabash National’s Diversified Products Group President Mark Weber on May 1, 2014, during TTMA’s 72nd Annual Convention in Tucson AZ.

Awards, given to tank and trailer manufacturers, are ranked by the number of man-hours worked. Bulk Tank won in the “B” category of the award segmented for plants that reported between 350,000 and 750,000 man-hours. Award determinations are based on direct comparison of injury data from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Annual Summary Form 300A, the same data used by the National Safety Council and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“Being recognized by TTMA for exemplary safety performance is a testament to the operational excellence our associates deliver every day,” said Dave Hodorff, vice-president of operations for the Walker Group. “This achievement is the result of our entire company’s commitment to safety for all of our associates, which has now been awarded to a Walker Group business for the ninth consecutive year. We congratulate our entire team for a job well done.”

This year marks the 43rd presentation of TTMA’s Plant Safety Awards. TTMA is a member-based organization established to build confidence between manufacturers of truck trailers, cargo tanks, intermodal containers and their suppliers to bring about a mutual understanding of the problems confronting all manufacturers.
