WIT seeking nominations for Distinguished Woman award

Jan. 10, 2019
WIT and Truckstop.com are seeking nominations for the 2019 Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award.

Women In Trucking Association (WIT), Truckstop.com, and Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) are seeking nominations for the 2019 Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award (DWLA). The award recognizes the achievements and leadership of outstanding individuals involved in logistics in North America.

“Women are making enormous strides in the $186 billion logistics industry,” said Nancy O’Liddy, chief of staff with the TIA. “In fact, that is why TIA started their own Women in Logistics Committee, which then prompted us to partner with Women In Trucking. Great friendships and partnerships have grown from that joint effort, and we are proud to present this award at our annual convention.”

Anyone may nominate a candidate by completing and submitting the nomination form at womenintrucking.org/DWLA. Nominations are due February 8, 2019.

“The Distinguished Woman in Logistics award allows us an opportunity to honor a trailblazing woman who has exceeded her role in supply chain management and is both a role model and a pioneer in the industry,” said Ellen Voie, president/CEO of WIT.

Sponsored by Truckstop.com and TIA, the award is open to high-performing women in any field related to logistics, including supply chain management, third-party logistics, and trucking. Renee Krug, chief financial officer of GlobalTranz was the 2018 DWLA winner.

Included in the award selection committee are representatives from WIT, Truckstop.com, TIA and academia.

The winner of the 2019 DWLA will be announced April 12, 2019, during TIA’s “Capital Ideas” Conference and Exhibition in Orlando FL.
