Sewickely PA-headquartered Modern Transportation Services, whose carrier operations include chemical and dry bulk, recently received a 2019 Supplier Collaboration Award from glass container manufacturer Owens-Illinois (O-I).
Dan Rutkowski, O-I’s logistics procurement specialist, presented the award during a gala at O-I’s headquarters in Toledo OH.
“The criteria for the award is the amount and the quality of collaboration between the carrier and our supplier team,” Rutkowski said. “Modern consistently brings new opportunities to the table to provide results, and examples of those results are all over O-I’s network.”
During the presentation, Rutkowski recognized the “dedication and diligence” of Jamond Hackley, Modern’s regional operations director, and shared a recent example of collaboration between Modern and O-I’s Waco TX plant.
“The process was difficult and sometimes painful,” he said. “But Modern’s constant communication on a day-in, day-out basis provided O-I with the opportunity to operate through a difficult position.
On hand to accept the award were Patrick Cozzens, president of Modern Transportation, and Brian Wilt, the company’s director of national accounts.
