The average on-road diesel price continued to tread water last week at $2.882, a ripple below $2.888 reported the week before, according to May 29 information from the Department of Energy.
Compared to this time last year, on-road diesel is higher by 72 cents per gallon. In May of 2005, on-road diesel consumers were paying an average of about $2.16, but still less than the peak reported in October of 2005 of about $3.10 per gallon.
