QualaWash, Tampa FL, has acquired a three-bay Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, cleaning facility from Rapid Tank Cleaning Ltd, says Robert Brooks, QualaWash vice-president, sales and marketing. Mike Herbstreit, newly-appointed facility manager, and nine other employees are involved in the operation.

Originally built in 1995 on the 1.8 acre site, the tank wash has approximately 10,000 square feet of bay and shop space, as well as 1,200 square feet of office space. The facility provides steam, hot and cold water, detergent, and caustic cleaning. Four 2,500-gallon solution vats handle detergent, caustic, and hot and cold water. Equipment includes Gould Ansi Pumps and Sellers Model 360 spinners. QualaWash is currently in the process of adding cold solvent cleaning capability to an unused bay at the end of the building in order to perform more difficult tank cleaning, Brooks says. The Sarnia Qualawash is located just east of the intersection of Highway 40 and Plank Road.
