BASED on the success of its heavy-duty air suspension, Freightliner Corporation has introduced the Medium-Duty AirLiner for Class 5-7 vehicle operators. Available immediately, the new air suspension comes in 10,000-lb, 12,000-lb, and 15,000-lb capacities.

Freightliner will offer the Medium-Duty AirLiner for its Business Class FL 50, FL 60, and FL 70 products including ambulances, as well as for its SportChassis recreational tow vehicle.

The Medium-Duty AirLiner is optimized to preserve cargo and cushion the ride for medium-duty operators. With its oversized air bags and high range of travel, this suspension takes the bite out of the roughest roads.

The suspension's single-leaf design and optimized geometry provide inherent roll stiffness and maximum stability during acceleration, braking, and cornering. Self-steer effects are diminished for superior handling and excellent lateral control.

The Medium-Duty AirLiner offers a low standard ride height-5.25 inches measured from the axle centerline to the bottom of the rail. Also available with the 10,000-pound capacity suspension is an extra-low ride-height option-3.5 inches.

The Medium-Duty AirLiner is designed for cost-effective performance throughout the life of the truck. Double-bonded rubber bushings require no lubrication, and other nonmaintenance components ensure long life and year-to-year savings.

In addition, the suspension utilizes lightweight aluminum components for greater cargo-carrying capacity and increased efficiency.

With the addition of the Medium-Duty AirLiner, the proprietary Freightliner air suspension is now available in eight ratings: 10,000, 12,000, 15,000, 18,000, 21,000, 23,000, 40,000 and 46,000 pounds.
