Daimler Trucks North America will have a hand in an initiative co-owned by The HALO Foundation and Road Scholar Transport: “93 Cents for Flight 93” campaign, a fund-raising endeavor commemorating the passengers and crew members aboard United Flight 93, who lost their lives Sept 11, 2001.

A Freightliner Cascadia with specially designed graphics was prominently displayed at the “93 Cents for Flight 93” kick-off event held today in Shankesville PA. The truck, which is owned by Road Scholar Transport, will serve as a roaming billboard to generate awareness and money for the effort.

The Cascadia showcases a larger-than-life bald eagle, with its yellow and gray beak descending over the hood. An insignia with “Forever Heroes, Honor and Hope” is placed in the middle of the cab, flanked by the Road Scholar Transport and The HALO Foundation logos. The eagle’s head and body continue to the back of the cab and blend into the trailer, which further promotes the “93 Cents for Flight 93” campaign.

This Cascadia is part of Road Scholar’s “Hope and Awareness Campaign,” which supports different causes. Customers select the truck that corresponds with their charity of choice from Road Scholar’s fleet of specially designed Freightliner trucks, and for every mile their freight travels, a donation is made to that charity.

The “93 Cents for Flight 93” initiative supports the Flight 93 National Memorial Capital Campaign, a national and international effort seeking to raise $30 million from philanthropic individuals, corporations, and foundations to enable the construction of the Flight 93 National Memorial.
