NTTC sets milestone with second annual Tank Truck Week

BY ALL accounts, National Tank Truck Carriers achieved a major success with the second annual Tank Truck Week held in Houston, Texas November 10-12, 2014. It was the largest event ever held by NTTC.

More than 1,450 members of the tank truck industry were in attendance at the three-day event, and suppliers to the industry accounted for 200 equipment exhibits, including 80 tank trailers and tank containers and three leading tractor manufacturers spread over 250,000 square feet at the George R Brown Convention Center.

“From the strong panel sessions on topics that truly matter to our industry, to our fantastic keynote speaker, Tank Truck Week programming directly addressed the unique interests of our industry,” said Dean Kaplan, NTTC chairman and CEO and executive officer of K-Limited Carrier Ltd. “The present strength of our industry is reflected in the strength of Tank Truck Week.”

Held in conjunction with a Safety & Security Council meeting, a Cargo Tank Test & Inspection Workshop, and Tank Wash Council session, the packed agenda had plenty to offer.

This year’s expanded Tank Truck Week program featured topics of interest for several key operating functions of any tank truck company including safety, tank cleaning, maintenance, and driver relations.

Event sponsors included the following: Platinum Level—Heil Trailer International, Houston Freightliner, MAC LTT, Polar, Volvo Trucks, and The Walker Group; Gold Level—Civacon, Hendrickson, KAW Services, Littlejohn, Quala, Ridewell Suspensions, and Snider Fleet Solutions; Silver Level—Girard Equipment, J J Keller & Associates, Ultraflo Corp, and Westmor Industries; and Bronze Level—Fort Vale, Omnitracs, and Salco Products.  ♦
