A&R logistics opens new packaging, warehousing facility in Jackson TN

March 17, 2014

A&R Logistics Inc, a US provider of dry bulk transportation, packaging, distribution, and logistics solutions, has opened a new full service packaging and warehouse facility in Jackson TN.  With 15 truck loading doors, the 112,000 sq-ft regional distribution center offers packaging, storage, transloading, and transfer services to bulk and warehouse customers in its Mid-South region.

Roughly the size of two football fields, the center is expected to process more than 9,000 orders annually and move some 66,000 tons of mostly raw and finished plastic products. This becomes A&R’s tenth storage and warehouse facility in the United States, giving the company 1.7 million square feet of total storage capacity.

Daniel Jaworski, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for A&R Logistics, says: “We’re very pleased to offer our customers new packaging and storage options with the opening of the regional distribution center in Jackson. The center will serve customers in the southeast primarily, but some of the products shipped will reach as far north as Illinois and as far west as Texas.”

Roughly two-thirds of the new warehouse in Jackson will be used for storage, while the remaining one-third will handle packaging. Located in a mostly industrial area on Flex Drive, the new storage and warehouse operation complements an existing A&R trucking terminal about four miles away.
