Tropical Storm Ida caused no significant loss of oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico, though Chevron, Marathon Oil Corp, and Exxon Mobil Corp temporarily shut down some production and evacuated some personnel as a precaution.

Before Ida made its November 10 landfall, Jim Rouiller, senior energy meteorologist at private forecaster Planalytics Inc, said, “With Ida’s continued weakening, most offshore oil rigs in the Gulf would not see any damage. I think that by tomorrow (November 10) it will be normal operations across the production region.”
